I purchased this refrigerator on May 28, 2014. It was first repaired within 14 months of purchase that cost approximately $260. Now I have a repair estimate of $825.00 plus. I will not put that money into this piece of junk. I will buy a new refrigerator--not Kitchenaid--and I will make sure to purchase the extended warranty. This model has been discontinued. I do have a Kitchenaid stove and dishwasher and they are great.

This is the worst fridge I have ever used. I am so completely disgusted by this product. 2 years after having it completly stopped working. I had to argue with Kitchenaid to fix it. They sent a repairman out. He told me that he "basically replaced everything but the shell and they would have been better off giving us a new fidge." "They (Kichenaid) knew they built a bad product." Two years later the ice machine has started leaking any now the freezer door won't shut because of the constant ice build up..... Thanks Kitchenaid. I had my last fridge for 10+ years this one has been 4... Guess what brand I will never ever ever recommend.

Both this in 2013. Spent $2,400 based on reviews etc. Nothing but trouble. Four years later we need a new fridge.

I bought this refrigerator in November 2013 after having my previous KitchenAid refrigerator for 25+ years. For the last four years we have spent thousands of dollars repairing the icemaker, the water dispenser, the fridge, the freezer drawer, and my wood for that it it leaked all over on two occasions. As a schoolteacher and mother of three I do not have thousands of dollars laying around to go purchase a new refrigerator and yet that's what I'm being forced to do. You can bet that I will not be buying another KitchenAid however!

Built a brand new house and bought all my appliances at once. Went with kitchen aid for its good reputation for quality and reliability. So disappointed. Each appliance has one or more issues. But this review is about the refridgerator. Always has had an excessive amount of liquid collecting on inside ceiling. Initially thought excess condensation. Appliance repair guy said it was a known issue with ice maker. I asked if known issue = recall? Nope. Issue resurfaces, gets worse, realizes entire bottom of refridgerator covered in water. Water inlet leaks. Minor damage to hard wood floor. $400 repair. Minor complaints: ice maker jams a lot. Seems like a design flaw to store ice in the non-freezing refridgerator compartment. Also door latch system is a bad design. Kids/guest frequently leave door ajar because it doesn't close easily. Is there anything good? It keeps my food cold. That's a basic expectation. It looks fairly nice. Controls intuitive. But I didn't expect a $200 and a $400 repair on a 4 year old refridgerator. Don't even get me started on the Kitchen aid dishwasher I already replaced.
