Poor Service - Unit not worth the money

Unit cooks if that is what you are looking for. The lighting circuit has failed twice. this is fine besides the fact that the unit takes for ever to preheat. When you have to open the door to look at the food to determined if it has browned the lights are key. The service is 3rd party and works with Kitchen Aid service group and this relation ship does not work. The have had about 30 hours of time i needed to take off to accommodate for appointments to fix. The fix did not work just like the service tech said as he has seen this before with this model and the Kitchen Aid group did not approve the fix but needs to see it fail twice more. Since calling again for service is starting out horrible again. Personally i would not buy another product due to lack in service capabilities.

I purchased this double wall oven when I remodeled my kitchen several years ago without realizing it had the steam feature. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this feature and use it all the time. Much healthier way of cooking with ease especially seafood. I am purchasing another home and had a waterline installed to accommodate this exact oven. When I went to make the purchase I found it was discontinued. PLEASE bring back, PLEASE! People really don't know what they are missing until they try it.

We've had this oven for a year, got it on sale for 50% off but now that it's discontinued the price is even lower. Preheat to 425F takes 17 min. Not too bad if you plan ahead, I don't know how long our old oven took to warm up that long so I don't know if that's good or bad. It's easy to clean the oven floor, the heating element are in the base so they don't get in the way while wiping up spills. I'v cooked 2 turkeys using the steam feature, they go through a browning stage then the steam cook. They were awesome, beautiful and moist. The only thing I'd recommend is to extend your cook times on dishes to get a complete cook. The Turkey's I'd give an extra 1/2hr but at 1.5 hrs to cook a 14 lb turkey that's fast anyway. It's not that noisy, fans cycle periodically while cooking and can be heard. During cool down the cabinet fans continue to cool the exterior until it cools off. Problems? We had a problem with the steam feature. The steam is produced by a boiler on each oven. The stem passes into the oven during the cooking cycle. One of the boilers burned out and would not let us use that oven at all. Once replaced we haven't had recurring problems but I haven't used it that much anyway. Now we are having some deformation of the vent grill above each oven and it is rubbing on the door causing a scratch mark. I have to call in for that still. The vents are plastic and the oven heat passing through them is just too much for whatever kind of plastic they used. Generally, The ovens have been great to have separate cooking temps at the same time. Reliability has been perfect outside of the stem boilers so I suspect that any oven without that feature would be trouble free. I'd be disappointed if I had paid full price but am still happy enough with it to recommend at discount prices currently see around $1500. The good thing is that the appliance repair person said that this brand has a good reputation.

I'm delighted that I went with double ovens. It's so much easier to cook things that need different temperatures. I like the steam assist too although it takes some practice to get used to it. It would be nice if there was more documentation on using it. Overall it's great for what I do, however I have a few concerns. First, it's slow to preheat, significantly slower than a stand-alone oven. Second, the timer is very difficult to see (in the upper right) while operating and must be turned off or it'll continue to beep. Third, it was a difficult install for the builder. The installation instructions are not clear and we had to take delivery 3 months earlier than desired and unbox it to find out where the power cable comes out in order to rough in the electrical. It's attractive and functional. The racks are easy to move and the rolling bottom rack is a cool innovation. Cleaning is easy too and the stainless steel is attractive.
